The Children's and Young Adult Literature Festival at Salisbury University will focus on diverse voices in Children's and Young Adult Literature this year. Highlights include an exhibit of original art by Caldecott honor recipient Bryan Collier, talks by this year's Newbery Award winning author Kwame Alexander, two award winning authors from Australia (Susanne Gervay and James Roy), Green Earth Book Award winning author Teena Gorrow, and activist Isatou Ceesay from Gambia joined by Miranda Paul of We Need Diverse Books. Come hear One Plastic Bag read aloud by author Miranda Paul and activist Isatou Ceesay from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14th at the Library of Congress! Geared for youth ages 5-9, this story time presentation will include a reading, a recycling activity for elementary-aged children, and a chance to ask questions about the book-making process.
