http://www.highlightsfoundation.org/workshops/

Come visit the picturesque Highlights Foundation for a special workshop with Jennifer Swanson, Miranda Paul, and editors/industry professionals. The “Nuts and Bolts of Science Writing” for kids and teens workshop is a wonderful retreat for those looking to write fiction or nonfiction that stems from a science, nature, or informational topic. The course will cover everything from writing action rhymes for the very young to nonfiction magazine articles to picture books, middle grade and YA nonfiction chapter books, and other forms. We will also discuss work-for-hire and trade markets, ways to break into the industry, and how to maintain a career as a writer. Those with science educational backgrounds and those who just have a passion for science, math, or nature are all welcome. Please visit the Highlights Foundation website for updates and details.
