Authors Miranda Paul and Bridget Birdsall will make a special appearance to present “Books Matter: Changing the World Through Literature” at the Wisconsin State Reading Association annual convention on Thursday, Feb. 4 from 9:45-11:15 a.m.

Birdsall will speak about the impact of her book Double Exposure, a novel about a transgender teen. Paul will speak about One Plastic Bag: Isatou Ceesay and the Recycling Women of the Gambia, a picture book about an environmental activist. Both of their books have had far-reaching impacts on students and communities since their releases in 2014 and 2015.

Bridget Birdsall and Miranda Paul will also be available in the exhibit hall for book signings throughout the day. Please view the convention webpage for more details.
