Picture Book Possibilities – SCBWI-Nebraska Presentation

Award-winning children’s author Miranda Paul and debut children’s book author Baptiste Paul will walk us through many beloved literary and artistic picture book formats. From simple concept books and bedtime stories to cultural folktales to a new wave of dynamic nonfiction, well-crafted picture books have the power to captivate an audience of readers young and old. Attendees looking to publish their work will gain insights on pairing their ideas with the right format to more effectively capture an editor’s attention.

Miiranda and Baptiste PaulMiranda Paul is the award-winning children’s author of One Plastic BagWater is Water10 Little NinjasThe Great Pasta Escape, and more. Her books have received Junior Library Guild selection, starred reviews, and numerous state list nominations. She believes in working hard, having fun, and being kind.

Baptiste Paul’s debut, The Field, earned three starred reviews and is called “Irresistible fun” by Kirkus. Adventures to School, his next book, releases in May. Born and raised in St. Lucia, Baptiste is a native Creole/Patois speaker. He currently lives in Green Bay, Wisconsin with his wife and children.
